I like this very much, one comment, the characters left arm, maybe that could have some thin white lines to show the direction, seems lost in the shirt she is wearing.
Ummm I gues mostly self taught, I have taken some figure drawing and design classes in college, but havent even had a chance to apply what i learned yet.
I too have taken college classes for my graphic design degree, Life drawing helped a lot with porportions etc. The sad part of that class was the only model we could get was a old man lol! But my general Anuime/manga experience came from slow days at my old job. Those are most of the Inuyasha and Cowboy bebop pics I have on my profile.
If anything, at this point I feel anime has hindered my progress. I feel stuck drawing things in this style when I want to grow up from it to develop something I can really call my own.
Well if you want to expand do what I did, draw from catalogs like victorias secret, something that shows alot of the human form, with its correct proportions etc. I did that a couple of times and it cam out good. I posted those as well on my site. Another thing is you could take a picture of yourself in a certain pose or position and recreate that it also helps. Like I told my one friend, dont worry about the faces just work on the proportions and scale and then fill the detail in later.
